Did you know, that one of the most common wedding-related regrets is not taking bridal portraits? I am a BIG advocate for taking bridal portraits, and it’s not just because I want the chance to get more gorgeous gals in front of my camera.

A bridal session has soooooo many benefits. I’ve made a list of 7 Reasons Why You Should Take Bridals to give you all the pros of scheduling a bridal session with your photographer!

1. Bridal Portraits give you a trial run for EVERYTHING!

By scheduling a bridal session, it gives you a chance to have a trial run for your hair and makeup, jewelry selections, bouquet, and even your dress! This is the perfect opportunity to see if your inspiration pictures are truly what you want for your wedding day and make adjustments as needed.

2. It gives you a chance to make sure you’re comfortable!

On your wedding day, I want to make sure you feel comfortable and confident, both in your dress and in front of the camera. Not only does a bridal session give you another opportunity to get comfy in front of the camera so you can be your best, natural self, but it also gives you a chance to move around in your dress and see if any other last-minute alterations need to be made.

I’ve had a bride realize during her session that the strap of her dress was still a little too loose when it came falling off her shoulder, but thankfully she was able to get it altered in time so it wasn’t a problem on her wedding day.

Bonus: it gives you a chance to break in your wedding shoes before the big day!

3. You get to wear your dress more than once.

I feel like this point speaks for itself. Did you spend all that time searching for THE dress, just to wear it once? No thank you. I think my brides deserve to feel like a princess for more than just one day, and getting to strut your stuff during a bridal session is the perfect chance!

4. You get more photos!

As you’re planning your wedding day, I’m sure you’re beginning to realize how busy you’re going to be! Often, the schedule of the day leaves very little time for bridal portraits, so by booking a separate session, you’re guaranteed to get wayyy more photos back of you looking your absolute best. Avoid the crunch-time wedding day stress of trying to be perfectly posed with only 15 minutes to snap photos and opt for a more relaxed setting where we can guarantee you feel cool, clam, and collected.

5. More time with your spouse on your wedding day!

Building off of my previous point, your wedding day can be a bit hectic trying to make sure you get photos with every friend, relative, and detail. By checking bridal portraits off the list in advance, it gives you more time to get some epic couples portraits of you and your spouse, family formals, or even an opportunity to sip on a mimosa before walking down the aisle.

6. It makes for great decor.

Bridal prints as wedding decor? Yes please! I love seeing brides incorporate their bridal and engagement photos into their wedding decorations. It gives you another chance to show off how good you look, not to mention your relatives will love it and will probably beg for copies as a Christmas present.

7. Location Diversity

This is one of my favorite reasons why you should take bridals. By scheduling a bridal session, it allows to you pick a location besides your wedding venue to give you a completely different look than what you’ll get the day of. This is the perfect opportunity to pick your favorite scenic spot, or a place that means a lot to you.

So basically…

What day works best for your bridal session?

Okay I’m kidding, but I could seriously go on and on about this because I truly think every bride should do it! If you’re not convinced yet, check out all of the incredible photos of the brides I have had the honor of capturing during my time as a wedding photographer.
