Wedding trends and styles are constantly changing and evolving, and 2023 will be no different. I wanted to take a stab at predicting some of the top wedding trends for 2023, some we’ve seen beginning to emerge within the last few years, and some we will see make a reappearance from years past.

Whether you are a classic, tried and true bride, or you want to keep up with the latest and greatest of the wedding industry, this post is for you. I will be going over my top 5 wedding trend predictions for 2023! In no particular order, let’s jump in!

1. Non-traditional Wedding/Bridal Dresses

Non-traditional bridal gowns have popped up time and time again over the years. Typically the non-traditional gowns we have seen have been a different color, or a shorter length, but recently we’ve begun to see more of a variety of untraditional dresses. I predict we will see more and more untraditional gowns in 2023 with features such as floral patterns, bright colors, and unique cuts.

2. Colorful Weddings

Gone are the days of traditional white, or soft-colored weddings. In 2023 we will begin to see bolder color palettes, combinations, and decorations.

Don’t get me wrong, a simple white wedding will always be a tried and true classic, but in 2023 wedding color schemes will be filled with bold primaries, and soft accents. From bright spring colors to more fiesta-style combinations the colors in weddings will continue to grow and evolve.

3. Mix & Match Bridesmaids Dresses

This is a trend that we’ve seen in the wedding industry for years. It first began as dresses that were all the same color, and just different styles. Since then we’ve seen a variety of colors, cuts, textures, and patterns make their way into the world of bridesmaids dresses.

This is a trend I predict will continue in 2023 and may even take a more dramatic route featuring neons, fringes, and more intricate patterns and textures. This is a trend that is sure to stick around for years to come, and will continue to become more and more dramatic as the years go on.

4. Maximalist Florals

There is nothing prettier than flowers in my opinion, and this might be one of my favorite 2023 wedding trends to date. We’ll begin to see more maximalist use of flowers from incredible arches, bouquets, and flower installations.

Going further into that, I think with flowers we’ll begin to see more whimsical arrangements with lush greenery and untraditional designs and colors.

5. Dramatic Cakes

Gone is the classic 3 tiered white cake. While we will still see a basic 3 tier, I think 2023 will take its own spin on it from fun and funky flowers to interesting textures, and even square cuts instead of the uniform round.

Cakes will be taking and interesting direction in 2023 and I for one am here for it. I’m excited to see unique and delicious designs sure to leave guests smiling.

The wedding industry is constantly evolving, and with that gone is traditional wedding trends. I’m excited to see which of these predictions land and see what new trends come to life this year. Which one of these trends is your favorite?
